Our mission

School should adapt to the student.

Homework Turtle exists so that no student has to be good at being organized before they’re allowed to be good at school. We build tools that adapt to how a brain actually works — calm, patient, and never in a hurry — so that the effort goes into the learning instead of into keeping up with the app.

I was the student this is for. Not the one who didn’t care — the one who cared a lot and still couldn’t find the assignment, or started it Thursday night, or got told to “just focus” as though that were something you could simply decide to do.
Nothing I was handed had been built for a brain like mine. The planners assumed I’d remember to open them. The tutoring assumed I’d get it the first time. The apps kept adding features until using the app became its own homework.
So Homework Turtle looks the same every day, never punishes you for falling behind, and Shelly will explain the same thing ten times without sighing. That last part isn’t a feature. It’s the whole reason I built this.

What parents ask us

Is Homework Turtle safe for my child?

Kids under 13 can only use the app after a parent approves it by email. There are no ads and no ad tracking, and we never sell personal information. Shelly runs on Anthropic's Claude, and Anthropic doesn't train on our users' conversations. A parent can download or delete the account's data at any time.

Will Shelly just do the homework for my kid?

No. Shelly explains step by step, asks questions back and will re-explain as many times as it takes. It's academic help, not a homework-doing service, so your child still does the thinking.

How is this different from a general AI chatbot?

Homework Turtle is built around homework. Shelly is set up to teach instead of handing over answers, and it sits next to a homework tracker, a focus timer, flashcards, and accessibility settings made for students with ADHD, autism and dyslexia.

Can I see what my child has due?

Yes. On the Family plan, you link to your child's account with a 6-digit code and see their assignments, subjects, due dates and progress on your parent dashboard. You don't see their notes or their conversations with Shelly.

How does the free trial work?

Paid plans start with 7 days free. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. There's one trial per customer across all plans and platforms. The Free plan stays free.

Which devices does it work on?
